The workshop series brought together experts and practitioners to identify areas of policy convergence, shared governance challenges, and practical pathways for cooperation across the three regions. Discussions focused on how to move from shared principles to more concrete collaboration on implementation, standards, infrastructure, capacity-building, institutional readiness, and other areas that shape the effectiveness of AI governance.
The resulting Strategic Input Note also considers how a coordinated middle-power agenda can help bring greater visibility and coherence to shared priorities in global AI governance. These include rights-based governance, interoperability, capacity-building, infrastructure, and reduced technological dependency.
By bringing together perspectives from Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and Canada, the initiative seeks to contribute practical input to the Global Dialogue while also supporting longer-term cooperation beyond the 2026 process.
