Gaza: The Water, Energy and Governance Conundrum

In cooperation with its partner Abu Tor, an Economic Research Collaborative based in Jerusalem, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Palestinian Territories has conducted a new study on the water sector in Gaza – “The Water-Energy-Governance Nexus. A Plan of Action for Saving What Has Been Achieved". Contested States and EU Practices of Territorial (Un)Differentiation

Insights from the Cases of Palestine and Western Sahara

The lecture aimed to explain the "lifecycle" of the EU’s practices of territorial differentiation towards contested states in a situation of foreign occupation in its southern neighbourhood, i.e. Palestine and Western Sahara.Dr. Dimitris Bouris (Assistant Professor, University of Amsterdam) presented his current research on the topic. The discussion was followed by a commentary by Ulrike Hauer (Head of the Political Section, The Office of the EU Representative) in regards to the case of Palestine.

A group of students from KAS Scholarship Program visited Palestine for a 2-day program to learn about the political developments in the region. Our offices in Ramallah and Jerusalem joined the program that highlighted the current politics of the region and discussed future scenarios of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
