In cooperation with its partner Abu Tor, an Economic Research Collaborative based in Jerusalem, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Palestinian Territories has conducted a new study on the water sector in Gaza – “The Water-Energy-Governance Nexus. A Plan of Action for Saving What Has Been Achieved". Precarious Situation in the Jordan Valley

The Jordan valley has recently received increased international attention within the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations. As both sides claim the control over the area, Palestinians consider it as an integral part of their state territory whereas the Israeli government refuses to hand over its military presence at the border to Jordan. Together with the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICADH), the team of KAS Ramallah was able to obtain an overview of the living conditions of Palestinians in the Jordan valley during a one-day-tour.

On 13 November 2013, the Institute of Law at Birzeit University organised a legal encounter on The Discourse about the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) in the Islamic Republic of Iran: Voices of Female Jurists. The presentation was made by Irene Schneider, Professor for Arabic Studies and Islamic Law at the University of Göttingen, Germany.

Reducing electricity and water shortages in the Dura-Hebron region by improved use of resources

Joint workshop with the Dura Municipality from October 29 to 31 2013

Together with the Dura municipality, the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation in Ramallah has organized a three-day workshop in order to train 53 housewifes from the Dura region in methods and techniques of efficient and econocmical use of water. The workshop aims at targeting the shortage of water and electricity resources in the region.
