The Autonomy and Peace Review is a quarterly publication of the Institute of Autonomy and Governance, with support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. On November 23, 2009 the worst election-related violence occurred in the province of Maguindanao. A convoy of 57 women, children, women lawyers, other supporters and journalists were massacred as they traveled to show support for an opposition candidate to the powerful ruling Ampatuan Clan in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.
