This year’s Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus meeting on “Inclusivity & Diversity in Gender Equality in Parliaments in Asia” will be held in in cooperation with the Parliament of Sri Lanka and will take place in Colombo from 9th-11th October 2023.

The AWPC Caucus meeting will focus on the National Policy on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment” of Sri Lanka.  The inclusiveness and diversity of gender policies in the region  along with the best practices and challenges of implementing these policies will be discussed.

The “National Policy on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment” which was drafted under the leadership of the Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus in Parliament of Sri Lanka and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers provides the vision to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment around the world to improve the overall quality of life for all people.
