The KAS Election Bridge programme is a regional platform that aims to bridge the gap in election campaigning expertise and a network of party managers and election campaigning experts among members of a political family (the center to center-right parties) in Asia and the Pacific. The network meets annually to discuss various themes that affect political parties and election campaigning such as populism and nationalism, identity politics, social media, artificial intelligence and other related topics. It is also an opportunity for the participants to exchange best practices and lessons learned, among themselves and with experts, in campaign communication, strategy, and organization. Another aspect of the programme is the dialogue between international participants and members of the local party where the meeting is held. This dialogue does not only cover election campaigning but it also includes topics on effective party management. Since 2013, the Election Bridge has engaged with around 50 party leaders and campaign experts from 17 political parties in Asia and Pacific. Over the course of the previous editions, the programme has conducted 7 conferences that include country presentations, thematic panel discussions, group sharing and workshops, parliamentary and party visits, and cultural activities.
