24 people from Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Asian Development Bank participated in the event “Social Cohesion in Europe and Asia - Prospects and Challenges”.

Besides the general concept of social cohesion in Europe and Asia, challenges to social cohesion in both regions were discussed. The participants analyzed the three dimensions of social cohesion defined by the OECD – social inclusion, social capital and social mobility. At the end an open discussion focussed on opportunities for addressing issues of social cohesion.
