On February 16, 2012, the new project ”EU-Asia Dialogue – Shaping a Common Future for Europe and Asia“, which is co-funded by the European Union, was officially launched to the public at the Orchard Hotel in Singapore. More than 100 representatives from the business sector, politics and the academia participated in this event. The highlight of the public launch was the key note speech by His Excellency, head of the European Union Delegation to Singapore, Marc Ungeheuer. Additionally, speeches were given by Dr. Wilhelm Hofmeister, director of the regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Singapore, Josef Janning, director of the European Policy Centre, Professor Zhen Yongnian, director of the East Asian Institute, and Dr. Yeo Lay Hwee, director of the EU Centre in Singapore. Following an open discussion, a reception offered a first possibility to exchange knowledge.
