In partnership with Legal Agenda

In June 2022, KAS' rule of law program for the Middle East and North Africa conducted this study in collaboration with the Legal Agenda. The study reviews the legal and procedural framework of caretaking governments by reviewing the Constitution and laws, the practices, as well as the various judicial and administrative interpretations of them. It also includes a critical assessment of current practices from the perspective of "best practices."

Furthermore, because Lebanon frequently has caretaker governments and prime ministers in power, the study evaluates and researches the legal obligations and rights of caretaker governments. In this context, the Belgian experience was also shared.
