On 14 September, the Promotion for Local Administration Foundation (PLAF), with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Thailand, organised a national-level meeting in Bangkok under the project “Citizen Councils on Public Policy and Decentralisation: Strengthening Citizen Participation in Democratic Development and Public Policy Formulation”.
This activity built on three provincial workshops held in Nakhon Phanom, Chonburi, and Phitsanulok. The workshops brought together members of the People’s Council and representatives from local administrative organisations in each area to discuss and advance public policy on Food Security.
The national-level meeting provided a space for stakeholders from different sectors to exchange views and recommendations. Proposals from each province were brought together for further discussion and exchange, helping to bring together diverse perspectives and shape a draft Food Security Act that reflects the key issues and needs of each area, before moving forward to the legislative consideration process.
