KlimaUnion, an advisory body to Germany’s CDU and CSU parties, plays a pivotal role in aligning ecological sustainability with economic growth. Their recent mission to Vietnam focused on fostering bilateral dialogue, sharing best practices, and exploring collaborative pathways toward carbon neutrality and sustainable development.

During the first three days in Hanoi, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with German institutions and Vietnamese stakeholders. These conversations centered on Vietnam’s energy transition, sustainable development, and biodiversity conservation. The dialogue laid a strong foundation for deeper bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of innovation, investment, and policy alignment in building a sustainable future. The visit underscored the shared commitment of both countries to take actionable steps in addressing global climate challenges.

In the following days, the delegation met with EU representatives, Vietnamese government officials, academic experts, and industry leaders. These engagements focused on Vietnam’s socio-economic development policies and its ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. A key theme throughout was the alignment between German expertise, EU frameworks, and Vietnam’s green transition strategies—highlighting the potential for future collaborative initiatives.

The final leg of the visit took place in Ho Chi Minh City, where the delegation interacted with representatives from German political, educational, and business sectors in southern Vietnam. Facilitated by KAS Vietnam, these discussions spotlighted German-led projects promoting environmental sustainability and green innovation. The delegation explored cutting-edge initiatives and met with local innovators, showcasing a thriving ecosystem that blends German technological know-how with Vietnam’s dynamic environmental strategies.

Throughout the trip, the delegation examined Vietnam’s socio-economic reforms, particularly policies that incentivize green investment and sustainable planning. The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating climate action through international cooperation and knowledge-sharing. KAS Vietnam pledged to expand its support for these efforts, further strengthening the Germany–Vietnam partnership. This visit marked a significant step forward in the two nations’ shared journey toward a greener, more resilient future.
