Germany is currently facing the next step of its energy transition. So far, renewable energies from wind or solar power are becoming more and more important for Germanys electricity sector. But other areas like transport, heat, industrial production or the challenge to store energy need further solutions. Therefore, Germany is supporting several initiatives to integrate hydrogen into its energy system. Due to the scarcity of domestic green hydrogen capacities Germany is cooperating with European and international partner on this topic. This session will provide a perspective on how this international cooperation looks like and what kind of technical solution Germanys steel industry is currently developing.
