According to the experts of non-traditional security (NTS), it is easy to confuse the definitions and consequences of traditional and non-traditional security. While the experts encourage an exchange of experiences between the EU and ASEAN in dealing with NTS problems they insist that the two blocks cannot copy each other's measures in solving the phenomenon due to different cultures, contexts and conditions. The conference "Non-traditional security in the process of regional integration: EU and ASEAN experiences, and policy implications for Vietnam" co-organised by KAS and the Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities (VASS) attracts about 50 scholars and researchers.
