Funding for Transition and BTA: Mandates, Myths and Reality
The series are in-depth discussions for better understanding of the Bangsomoro Organic Law (BOL) and the ways and means to implement it in a meaningful, efficient and relevant way. The series will examine the context, resources and capacities of institutions that will implement the BOL. Concrete actions and proposals are to be generated to build on the strengths and address the gaps and weaknesses in current processes and implementing institutions. The series will generate policy briefs to inform and aid policymakers and key stakeholders moving forward.

Mindanao 2019: Federalism, Bangsamoro, Security, and Martial Law
With aspirations to achieve sustainable peace and development in Mindanao, the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) with support from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Philippines (KAS) and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), organized this year’s Kusog Mindanaw in Davao City from July 11 to 12, 2019. The theme for this year’s conference focused on “Federalism, Bangsamoro, Security, and Martial Law”.

AIM President and Dean Jikyeong Kang set the tone of the event by delivering the opening remarks. Dr. Kang discussed the desired outcome of the forum – igniting conversation on education and human capital development in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Dr. Kang emphasized, among many recommendations, innovation and training to prepare the future workforce.

On its 8th year, the theme of the Breakfast Meeting with the Cardinal was celebrating truth, sincerity, and forgiveness. Attended by the diplomatic corps, institutions from many religious denominations, and other institutions, the meeting began with a Welcome Address from the Minister of Ecumenical and Inter-Faith Affairs of the Archdiocese of Manila, Rev. Fr. Carlos V. Reyes.
