On the first day, a special focus will be laid on the statute of the Court and the process that has led to its adoption. The relations of the Arab countries, especially Lebanon, with the court will also be explored, particularly with regard to the influence of their respective domestic legislations on its implementation.

The strengths and weaknesses of the Court’s structure as conceived in the statute will also be addressed, with the input of senior judges active in other regional Human Rights Courts (namely the European Court of Justice and African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights). Discussion are expected to cover the relationship between the Arab Charter of Human Rights and the UN Charter and Conventions.

The second day will be dedicated to the procedures of gaining access to justice through the Arab Court of Human Rights from a compared perspective. The meeting will end with a discussion about possible mechanisms to enforce the Court’s decisions.
