Expert conference
Details
About 35 experts discussed proposals of reform of the Council whose legal organization holds deficiencies that in the past had led to a blockade of the Council’s work for several years.
To prosecute violations of the constitutional law and to safeguard the rule of law, an independent and functioning Constitutional Court is required. With regard to its ability to work, the Constitutional Council of Lebanon repeatedly had to face problems that can be traced back to its legal organization and competences.
The findings of the congress will be published in a report.
