The virtual event opened a discussion about the the new strategy adopted by the EU and its call for renewing partnership and creating new opportunities in the region and voiced the expectations of the South Mediterranean region through an open discussion among experts. The EU strategy was presented and the experts tackled the topics below:

• How new is this strategy?
• Lebanon's expectations from the new strategy.
• The economic interconnectedness between the two shores.

The seminar adopted a conversational format to allow a flow and reactive discussion about the subject matter.

The event was concluded by a Q&A session to enable the participants to ask and interact with the experts.
