Conflict in Sudan: An Invitation to a Dialogue Session

A KAS-MDC Forum for Intra-Regional Dialogue

Join us for an expert panel discussing the conflict in Sudan. This event, moderated by Sarah Awaidah, brings together Gal Lusky, the founder of Israeli Flying Aid (IFA), Dr. Haim Koren, former director of the Political Planning Division at Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Israeli ambassador to Egypt and South Sudan. They will be joined by Mekki El Mograbi press writer on African Affairs and former diplomat in Washington D.C.

The Jewish King of Warsaw: Szczepan Twardoch in conversation with Michal Zamir

An event forming part of the series "On Political Turmoil and Human Destiny" in cooperation with KAS Israel

"King" is the latest book by Polish author Szczepan Twardoch, a crime novel telling the story of Yakub Shapira, a Jewish gangster and professional boxer. The author takes his readers into the underworld of 1930s Warsaw and masterfully sketches the growing antisemitism in Polish society at the time. This event is part of the special "On Political Turmoil and Human Destiny" series and takes places during the Jerusalem Writers Festival.

Energieeffizienz in Israel und in den Palästinensischen Gebieten

Im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe „Nachhaltigkeit, Klima und Energie“ luden am 22. April 2012 das Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information (IPCRI) und die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Vertreter aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft, Verwaltung und Politik aus Israel und den Palästinensischen Gebieten zu einem Workshop ein. Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung stand das gemeinsame Ausarbeiten von Handlungsempfehlungen zum Thema „Energieeffizienz“ in Israel und in den Palästinensischen Gebieten.

Wie steht es um Europas Rolle in der internationalen Politik? Welche Lehren zieht die Europäische Union aus der Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise? Und wie gestalten sich momentan die israelisch-europäischen Beziehungen? Diese Fragen standen im Mittelpunkt einer fünftätigen Studienreise für eine Reihe israelischer Jungdiplomaten aus verschiedenen Ministerien, der Stadt Tel Aviv-Jaffa sowie Angehörige der Polnischen und der Niederländischen Botschaft Ende März nach Brüssel.

What do young Europeans think about the Arab countries one year after the "Arab Spring" began? And what perceptions do young people from Arab countries have of Europe and Germany as potential role models? Young people from all over Europe and Arab countries met for two days at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin to discuss what can be learned from other people's point of views on the situation.

A united faith-based message for environmental sustainability

The Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development (ICSD) and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung co-organized the Interfaith Climate and Energy Conference held on Monday, March 19th, 2012, at the Konrad Adenauer Conference Center, in Mishkenot Sha'ananim, Jerusalem. The conference included plenary sessions with prominent religious leaders in the Holy Land, video addresses from world religious leaders, including the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and interactive break-out workshops among the participants.

Dealing with topics related to climate change and renewable energy has become a top priority within the framework of German development cooperation. Accordingly, the Washington Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) hosted a study trip of Israeli and Palestinian energy experts to the United States from March 5-9, 2012.

Energy Security and Energy Strategies in Europe and Israel

On March 18th 2012, Ben-Gurion University’s Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research hosted a symposium on the subject Energy Security for Europe and Israel, organized by the Israel office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The purpose of the symposium was to bring together European and Israeli energy specialists in order to compare their respective insights into ideas for reducing dependence on the world’s ever-dwindling supplies of oil.
