Building a Culture of Citizenship and Social Peace
On 22nd September 2025, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the KAS Jordan Office, in cooperation with the Jordanian Center for Civic Education (JCCE) and the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM), organised the conference “Civic Education and Religion: Building a Culture of Citizenship and Social Peace.” The event brought together academics, policymakers, educators, and religious leaders to explore how civic education and religion can jointly foster citizenship, inclusion, and social cohesion. Discussions addressed the ethical foundations of faith, the challenges and opportunities of the digital age, and the crucial role of schools in cultivating responsible and engaged citizens. The conference concluded with a shared call for a stronger synergy between civic education and religion to promote peace, shared values, and coexistence.
