WHY AND HOW WE WROTE A MODEL LAW FOR REFUGEES IN BANGLADESH
This important research initiative was carried out by researchers from the Center for Peace and Justice, BRAC University, in partnership with the Rule of Law Programme Asia, KAS and The Asia Foundation. The report, written by Sanjeeb Hossain, Nafisa Tabassum, Al Muktadir Esmam and Samira Manzur, examines the why and the how to write a Model Law for Refugees in Bangladesh.
This publication is a critical assessment, a call for legal policy and a blueprint for action. It examines Bangladesh's legacy of hosting refugees for protracted periods, how they are in a state of precarity and the need for a rights-based law for them.
