The Economy 101 project is a new initiative that builds on the success of the Citizenship 101 seminar series by introducing a dedicated focus on economic literacy. The project aims to equip young people with a foundational understanding of Jordan's economic history, structure, decision-making processes, and current economic challenges, while strengthening their ability to critically assess economic policies and engage in public economic discourse.
Through case studies, role-playing exercises, group work, and interactive discussions, participants explored key economic concepts, Jordan's economic landscape, and the relationship between economic policy, sustainability, and civic participation.
As the first implementation of the Economy 101 toolkit, the pilot marks an important step toward fostering economic literacy and empowering young Jordanians with the knowledge and practical skills needed to participate more confidently in economic discussions and decision-making processes.
