The four days conference was an initiative to address the prevailing gender based violence (GBV) in Namibia. The conference brought together different stakeholders countrywide representing different institutions keen to share notes and views on how to reduce and tackle GBV successfully.

Special initiative “One World – No Hunger: Strengthening Women’s Land Ownership and Land Use Rights in Sub-Saharan Afric

The film was produced for KAS through the special initiative “One World – No Hunger: Strengthening Women’s Land Use and Land Ownership Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa” to raise awareness about equal rights to communal land in Namibia.

KAS Youth Leader Forum

On the 23rd and 24th of July 2015, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized, the first ever, KAS Youth Leader Forum which took place in Windhoek. The Foundation invited Youth Leaders of partner parties of different countries of Sub-Sahara Africa namely, Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, DR Congo and Zimbabwe respectively.

Public Lecture Report: “What and where are Namibia’s national interests?”

On April 1, 2015 the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation hosted a public lecture under the theme “Where and what are Namibia’s national interests?” This event was jointly organised with the German Embassy as part of the German Weeks, which started on 2 March and finished on 18 July. The event was hosted at the Nampower convention Centre and was attended by slightly more than two hundred people.

KAS internally: Farewell Mrs. Gongoll

On 31 March 2015 we had to say farewell to our very appreciated colleague Gudrun Gongoll who is leaving us for retirement. Since the opening of our office in Windhoek in 1991 she has been with us as an accountant. We are happy to still have her around on contract bases. Thank you very much Mrs. Gongoll for 25 years of reliable and precious work.

Alternative Energy Forum 3 December 2014 at Hilton hotel, Windhoek

On 3 December 2014, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organised an Alternative Energy Forum at the HiIton Hotel in Windhoek. This event was a follow-up on a similar event also organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on 13 Novemebr 2014, which focussed on the “Kudu-Gas-to-Power” project.

Seminar for young politicans form southern Africa in Germany

Following an invite of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation 13 political youngsters from Angola, DRC, Kenia, Mosambique, Namibia, Simbabwe, South Africa and Tansania came to Berlin and Hannover this week. The on site visit was organised by the KAS in Germany, supported by Dr. Bernd Althusmann, Resident Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation office for Namibia and Angola.
