The event aims to foster discussion on key challenges and opportunities related to competitiveness, innovation, and digital transformation across the Western Balkans. Within the framework of the event, the Western Balkans Competitiveness and Innovation Index will be presented, providing a comparative overview of innovation capacities and competitiveness trends in the region, alongside policy recommendations aimed at supporting sustainable and smart economic growth.
The event will bring together high-level institutional representatives, policymakers, international experts, representatives of the business community, academia, and civil society organizations, with the objective of advancing dialogue on the key drivers of innovation-led development in the region.
The event will be opened by Marija Risteska, Executive Directress of the Center for Research and Policy Making, and Daniel Braun, Official Representative of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
Introductory keynote remarks will be delivered by Stephen Ezell, Vice President of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, and Kristijan Trajkovski, Project Coordinator at the Center for Research and Policy Making.
The policy panel will feature Stefan Andonovski, Minister of Digital Transformation; Zlatko Perinski, Minister of Local Self-Government; and Jelena Janevska, Programme Director at the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS).
The working languages of the event will be Macedonian and English, with simultaneous interpretation provided.
