Details
15th My Better Country Hackathon is an initiative of Thailand’s Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), supported by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Thailand Office, that provides a platform for citizens and stakeholders to participate in rethinking and improving the Thai public sector. Over the past years, our cooperation has organised My Better Country Hackathon three times.
The initiative invites participants, particularly students, young people, and public service users, to share their ideas, and propose solutions to improve public services and government operations. The aim is to advance Thailand’s transition towards open government by promoting transparency, public access to government data, and citizen participation. It also seeks to transform public ideas and innovative proposals into flagship projects that will inform the next phase of public administration development for 2028-2032.
Furthermore, the hackathon supports Thailand’s preparations for formal membership in the Open Government Partnership (OGP), reflecting the country’s commitment to more transparent, accountable, and participatory governance.
The hackathon focuses on four key themes:
🔹 Seamless Life - Designing public services that make everyday life easier🔹 Open Data for Impact - Making government data “findable, understandable, and usable”
🔹 Agile State - Designing a government that is “agile, flexible, and effective”
🔹 Reinventing Trust - Designing a government that is “transparent and trustworthy”
