Dr Céline-Agathe Caro, Director of the KAS Office in Thailand, welcomed all participants and addressed KAS objective in this project.
Mrs Irina Goryunova, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Thailand, gave a welcome remark.
Members of the Parliament and Policymaker who have been key contributors from the Thai legislative body.
Mr Piriya Uraiwong presented the role of the Thai Parliament in addressing challenges and opportunities in climate change mitigation.
Mr Nitipon Piwmow, Member of the Parliament from Move Forward Party, addressed his opinion upon the report validation for this project.
Dr Theerarat Samrejvanich, Member of the Parliament from Pheu Thai Party, joined in report validation with her point of view.
Mr Kanphong Chongsuttanamanee, Former Member of the Parliament from Move Forward Party, exchanged his experience and viewpoint he gained from contributing in the project.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seree Supratid, Director of the Climate Change and Disaster Center, Rangsit University, presented his opinion on report validation and also recent data on climate change issue.

Through the panel discussion, the report validation got the comments from Dr. Theerarat Samrejvanich, Member of the Parliament, Constituency-20 Bangkok, Pheu Thai Party; Mr. Nitipon Piwmow and Mr. Kanphong Chongsuttanamanee, Member and Former Member of the Parliament, Party-list, Move Forward Party; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seree Supratid, Director of Climate Change and Disaster Center, Rangsit University; Dr. Tippawan Prapamontol, Senior Researcher, Research Institute for Health Sciences, Chiang Mai University; and Mr. Attaphon Wichitphong, Deputy Mayor of Padang Besar, Songkhla Province.
The key points and recommendations collected from today’s seminar will be brought into parliamentary discussion for formulation of the related policies and measures to cope with this challenging problem. As well, they will be valuable sources of information for the Thai parliament when addressing the issues for further collaboration in the international stage.
