COP28 will set the stage for the world to take stock of its progress on the Nationally
Determined Contributions (NDCs) to combat climate change since adopting the Paris
Agreement; a process known as the Global Stocktake (GST). Additionally, as the world gears
to the GST at this year’s COP, negotiations will happen in a rather complex and knotty geopolitical
landscape with the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
