Personal Data Protection: Personal Data Privacy VS Public Security
The discussion co-organised by KAS and Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) together with network organisations will provide the participants from related working fields a platform to gain updated knowledge about the current policy and situation of personal data protection in Thailand, to exchange ideas and to propose opinions beneficial for further policy development. The discussion will also pave the way for further monitoring the bill on personal data protection once it passes the Council of State and is approved by the cabinet.
Media Promotion: Efficient Reporting on Modern Development in EEC Area
KAS in cooperation with the Forum 21, a civil society institute for social development, will hold a seminar series to enhance the quality of all EEC area-related communities through the work of local media. It is expected that the collaboration between the local media groups and the local organisations in areas of economic and social significance of the EEC will be strengthened for further development in the region.
Preparation for Administration of Administrative Justice via E-Court System
Regarding the 20-year master plan of the Office of the Administrative Courts of Thailand (OAC), a special lecture in cooperation with KAS Thailand Office will be held to prepare administrative judges, court executives, including court officials for the launching of the courts’ new electronic system which is targeted to uphold administrative justice in a fair, fast, and modern manner in strengthening good governance of the society.
Strategic Planning for Mass Communication and Public Relations on the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in 2019
As Thailand is the host for the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly 2019, the workshop that KAS will co-organise with the Secretariat of the National Assembly (SNA) aims to set up strategic plan and system for mass communication and public relations for this event as well as to create professionalism and build related network among the parliamentary officers responsible for this field of works.
IPPS Annual Meeting 2019
Upon the annual meeting, the Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) supported by KAS Thailand Office will gather network members and organisations to hear the reporting about directions of IPPS works and about last year’s success as well as the presentation of work plans for next three years. Therewith there will be a special discussion session on the civic education in order to open stage for participants to discuss and propose ideas for further development on related policies.

Upon the annual meeting, the Population and Community Development Association (PDA) supported by KAS Thailand Office will assemble its project coordinators, project assistants, and project staffs to discuss about the work plans and guideline for the submission of project’s financial reports for next three years.

The seminar in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Senate (SOS) addresses community leaders from various provinces and representatives of local governmental agencies to promote the idea of participatory democracy in National Reform by using participatory learning methods.

The training co-organised by KAS and the Office of the Administrative Courts of Thailand (OAC) aims to provide the platform for legal experts, state officials, and administrative judges to learn and exchange ideas on administrative jurisdiction process.

Media’s Roles and Responsibility towards Personal Data Protection
KAS Thailand Office in corporation with the Institute of Public Policy Studies (IPPS) held a dialogue on the issue of personal data protection which is their main focus this year to raise public awareness. The discussion taken place on 26 June 2019 was the third event in the series, underlining the roles and responsibility of media towards the current situation of personal data protection in Thailand. On this issue, Mr Pattara Khumphitak – executive board of the Post Publishing PCL, former president of the National Press Council of Thailand, and former Constitution Drafting Committee – gave a lecture and exchanged views with participants from various related fields in governmental offices, civil society, private sector, and especially media.
Social Market Economy, Social Equity, and SME in Bangkok
KAS in cooperation with the Forward Foundation welcomed community leaders and authorities from Laksi District to participate in the seminar and study visit taking place on 12 June 2019. The seminar explored the concept of Social Market Economy with a focus on equity in the society. Four expertise perspectives were discussed: Social Equitable by Law, Good Will Economy System, Brand Sustainable, and Business Model for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. The afternoon study-visit to Lertsuksom Community Enterprise in Phasi Charoen District offered a guidance to approaching social equity from the bottom-up or community level.

The two-day workshop in corporation with the Secretariat of the House of Representatives welcomed the parliamentary officials especially the ones responsible for public relations task to attend to the lectures, discussions, and group brainstorming on the topics of development of public relations to support the work of the legislative institutions and development of news content and format to strengthen citizenship through new media, etc.

Die Teilnehmenden hatten vom 5.- 9. März in Berlin und Bonn die Gelegenheit sich mit zahlreichen Vertretern aus Politik (Fraktionsvorsitzende der CDU/CSU MdB Volker Kauder, Regierungssprecher Steffen Seibert) und Medien zu treffen und über Themen wie Migration und Sicherheit (Bundespolizeipräsidenten Dr. Dieter Romann), sowie Erwartungen an die Große Koalition zu diskutieren und aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln zu beleuchten.

On 24 November 2016, KAS with the EU Delegation to Thailand and EnLAWTHAI hosted a public conference on a research of “Cabinet Resolution of 30 June 1998: Land and Forest Management” which over 130 participants from governmental organisations, civil society section and press attended.

Der Präsident des Obersten Verwaltungsgerichts Thailands besuchte vom 26.06. bis 01.07.2016 mit einer Delegation unter anderem politische Institutionen, das Oberverwaltungsgericht Berlin und das Bundesverwaltungsgericht in Leipzig. Die Teilnehmer informierten sich über die Möglichkeiten der erneuerbaren Energien, um in Thailand die Qualität der Rechtsprechung bei Projekten zur Nutzung der Rechtsprechung zu verbessern.
