The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Israel would like to congratulate the winners of the 2020 Israel Council on Foreign Relations/Israel Journal of Foreign Affairs /Konrad Adenauer Stiftung-Israel Essay Contest on "COVID-19: Exploration of Potential Systemic Changes to the Global Order." We received dozens of entries and are proud to co-present the top three with our partners at ICFR: 1st Place: Moshe Kwiat for his essay "Pandemics, Grey Zone Warfare, and (Inter)National Security" 2nd Place: Rachel Gould and M. Kate Gallagher for their essay "We Can Do Better: Opportunities to Adopt a New Economic Paradigm Thanks to the COVID-19 Pandemic" 3rd Place: Natan Chernin (not pictured) for his essay "The Threat of the Bio Lone Wolf on National Security: A Covid-19 Perspective" These three essays will be published in the summer issue of The Israel Journal of Foreign Affairs. We congratulate the winners and want to thank everyone who took part!

The study program will focus on Poland as a member of the European Union, its European integration process and current developments in the Polish society such as euro-skepticism, populism and anti-democratization trends. We will discuss the connection between the distant past of Poland, its role in World War II, the communist past, the westward turn, the rise of the right, its approach toward minorities, the place of the Jews, and its connection with Israel.
