In the Jordanian context, parties never pass through “primaries” to choose their candidates, it was always a very centralized process where the secretary general and the party’s political bureau decides on behalf of its members.
This policy paper is meant to be a tool for political parties to help them to enhance their democratic practices in choosing candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections, by promoting a more participatory process, with special focus on how to promote forward women and young party members.
