Community Workshop für traditionelle Autoritäten in der Omusati Region

Ein weiterer Workshop der Sonderinitiative “Eine Welt ohne Hunger“, welche das Ziel hat, Frauen, Gemeindemitglieder und traditionelle Autoritäten über den Communal Land Reform Act aufzuklären und ihre Rechte in diesem Kontext hervorzuheben, fand vom 19.-22.06.2017 in Outapi, in der Omusati Region statt. Die Zielgruppe des viertägigen Gemeinde-Workshops waren diesmal hauptsächlich traditionelle Autoritäten.

From the 30th to the 31st of May 2017, KAS Namibia-Angola invited numerous representatives of the Namibian Civil Society to a two-day conference at the Gateway Centre in Windhoek in order to discuss the current status quo of Civil Society in the country.

Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Regain Trust published a study on the reintegration of Namibian Sex Offenders in order to help former sex offenders reintegrate into society and prevent future acts of gender based violence.

Community workshop for women in Oshikoto region

Already for the fourth time this year the special initiative “One World – No Hunger: Strengthening Women’s Land Use and Land Ownership Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa” headed to women in the project regions to, inter alia, make them aware of their rights in the context of the Communal Land Reform Act and provide them with concerning information material. This time the two-days community workshop took place from 24. – 25.04.2017 in the small village of Onyaana, north of Omuthiya in Oshikoto region.

What rights are guaranteed to women by law and which do they actually own in reality? The special initiative “One World – No Hunger: Strengthening Women’s Land Use and Land Ownership Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa” is exploring on that question by continuing its community workshop series in the project regions. This time the workshop that especially targeted widows and single mothers took place in the Constituency Council Hall of Okatjali Village (30km of Ondangwa), Oshana Region on the 05. – 06.04.2017.
