Sweden’s EU Presidency

Stable Navigation Through Crises.

Sweden assumed the EU presidency in the beginning of the year. The priorities of the presidency are unity and security, prosperity and the green transition, resilience and competitiveness, as well as democratic values and the rule of law.

This article is a first evaluation of what Sweden’s new liberal-conservative government has done and achieved so far. Sweden’s greatest success as a leader of the European Council has been to maintain the united support for Ukraine in economically turbulent times.
