“Civic Education (Project Citizen)"

A Workshop series headed by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Amman office, and the Jordanian Center for Civic Education.The Jordanian Center for Civic Educa-tion Studies (JCCES) signed an agree-ment of cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Amman from April 2009 to November, 2009 to conduct 3 workshops in civic education to newly graduated social studies teachers. KAS and JCCES consider this project a joint project.

A Workshop series headed by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Amman office and the Jordanian Center for Civic Education.The Jordanian Center for Civic Education Studies (JCCES) signed an agreement of cooperation in 2008 with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Amman to carry out 3 workshop series of civic education workshops in 2009, at the Jordanian Center for Civic Education, Amman office. The workshops are tailored for university students and newly graduated teachers from the Ministry of Education.

A workshop series headed by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Regional Center on Conflict Prevention

The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung(KAS Amman) in cooperation with the Regional Center on Conflict Prevention (RCCP) co-organized a series of four workshops in 2008 and 2009 at the Jordanian Institute for Diplomacy targeted at a variety of actors including Jordanian NGOs, researchers and public sector employees, to provide participants with a basic framework of conflict prevention and conflict mapping.

Immigration und Integration sind nicht nur in Deutschland ein brandaktuelles Thema. Auch in der arabischen Welt stellt sich die Frage der Integration von Flüchtlingen und Migranten in die Gesellschaften. Jordanien beispielsweise ringt seit Jahrzehnten um den richtigen Umgang mit den palästinensischen Flüchtlingen. Aus Deutschland konnte die KAS Amman den Integrationsbeauftragten der nordrhein-westfälischen Landesregierung, Thomas Kufen, als Redner gewinnen.

Herausforderungen und Optionen für den Interkulturellen Dialog

In kaum einer anderen Region sind kulturell-religiöse Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede so greifbar wie im Mittelmeerraum. Das Nebeneinander-, Zusammen- und leider auch zu oft auch Gegeneinander- Leben der christlich-abendländischen, der moslemischen und der jüdischen Kultur bildet eine Gretchenfrage für Erfolg oder Misserfolg der Euro-Mediterranen Partnerschaft. Die wachsenden Migrationsströme verlagern die Frage des interreligiösen und interkulturellen Dialoges einerseits in die einzelnen Nationalstaaten hinein, während ihr die Globalisierung andererseits eine weltweite Dimension gibt.
