Vom 28.-30. März 2012 organisierte der Chicago Council on Global Affairs unter Beteiligung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung eine hochrangig besetzte Konferenz zum Thema "Smart Defense and the Future of the NATO." Eingeladen waren renommierte Sicherheitsexperten verschiedener Regierungen der NATO-Länder, sowie Akademiker und Vertreter von Think Tanks und Organisationen, die sich mit Sicherheitsfragen auseinandersetzen. Im Mittelpunkt stand die Frage "Can the Alliance meet the Challenges of the 21st century?"

März 2012 Fachexperten bei einer Veranstaltung in der Konrad Adenauer Stiftung über die Frage, ob erneuerbare Energie eine Basis für internationale Zusammenarbeit sein könne.

On February 17 and 18, more than 400 participants attended the Fifth Annual German Conference at Harvard to discuss this year’s theme, “The German Angst of Leadership.” The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung hosted a panel discussion on security policy, featuring remarks by both a German soldier and a U.S. soldier who discussed their experiences in Afghanistan.

The topic “Sustainability in Energy Policy and Beyond – A Modern Conservative Approach in German Politics” was presented by Dr. Günter Krings, who is Vice Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and former Chairman of the Parliamentary Advisory Council on Sustainable Development. Dieser Rettung sollten in den kommenden Monaten noch viele weitere Übernahmen und Insolvenzen folgen. Im Vergleich zu 2008 hat sich die Lage heute zwar beruhigt, doch die Krise ist weiterhin aktuell und allgegenwärtig.
