Serbian authorities urged to give statement on journalists’ surveillance

Surveillance scandal in Serbia emerged after a statement by Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin on a never-published opinion piece by former defence minister Dragan Sutanovac.

Opposition politician Sutanovac emailed the article to the editor of the weekly Nedeljnik, Veljko Lalic, who didn’t publish it. Reporter without Border raised the concern that “emails between opposition politicians and independent media outlets are being spied on and intercepted by the government” and called “on the authorities to shed all possible light on this matter.”
