📌 On June 10, 2023, the European Parliament in ASEAN and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s Multinational Development Policy Dialogue (MDPD), together with the Directorate-General for Parliamentary Democracy Partnerships, organized a panel discussion at the European Parliament focusing on strengthened EU-Indo-Pacific relations.
📌 The panel was part of a series of sessions at the 2023 European Youth Event and moderated by MDPD Program Manager Jonas Nitschke. The panel featured distinguished experts from the EU and the Indo-Pacific region, such as Jim Maher, Senior Policy Advisor at the European Parliament in ASEAN, who spoke about EU policy preferences for increased engagement in the Indo-Pacific, and Yuneswaran Ramaraj, member of the Malaysian parliament, who presented his views on Malaysian politics and youth. Finally, Freya Chow-Paul, senior executive at the Asia-Europe foundation, and Rey Uzhmar C. Padit, KAS program manager at the Asia regional office, explained how to bridge the gap between young people from Asia and Europe.
