“Gender Equality and Climate Change Mitigation in Parliaments in Asia”.
In 2024, the Asian Women Parliamentarian Caucus members will be meeting to discuss “Gender Equality and Climate Change Mitigation in Parliaments in Asia” looking at the confluence on how women parliamentarians can engage together to share experiences from their country discuss policy priorities and campaigns, center frontline experiences, and coordinate for urgent needed action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

4th Edition of the Asian Summer School on Political Parties and Democracy in Taiwan
Organised under the auspices of the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the School will bring together an international team of academics and practitioners to train and instruct a group of 16 MA/PhD researchers, practitioners and civil society leaders in the field of political parties and democracy between 20 – 26 May 2024, Taipei, Taiwan at the National Chengchi University (NCCU)

The Indo-Pacific: Geostrategic Challenges and Opportunities for Germany and Singapore
A strengthening of the defence co-operation between Germany and the countries in the region is an important priority for Germany’s Minister of Defence, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. On November 13, she will engage in a public virtual exchange with Singaporean Minister for Defence Dr. Ng Eng Hen in order to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the security cooperation between both countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

After a successful 2nd session, the KASYP Virtual Discussion Series will now discuss the “Future of International Cooperation Post-COVID-19 Pandemic”. In this 3rd session, the panel discussion will examine the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on international political cooperation, project the economic changes in international trade, overseas development assistance, and world norms, and identify new ways of cooperation after the COVID-19 pandemic in order to continue the economic and political developments in Asia.

After months of uncertainty and delays, Sri Lanka held its parliamentary elections on 5 August 2020. While the Gotabaya Rajapaksa government’s victory was expected, the overwhelming numbers it received were unprecedented. The parliamentary polls were a referendum on the government’s handling of COVID-19 and an endorsement of its performance in the last eight months. The panel will examine the political, economic, social and international challenges and imperatives for Gotabaya’s government following the parliamentary polls.

Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP): First Training for the 11th Batch
Political Parties, Functions, and Organisations in Democratic Societies
As we enter a new decade, the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia proudly presents the 11th batch of young politicians from 12 Asian countries who will undergo a two-year training programme on political party building, local governance and development, election campaigning, and European politics. The first training module will be held this coming 16-21 February 2020 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
