As the leader of Europe’s largest political family, Manfred Weber has shaped the direction and momentum of European politics for many years. Few embody the idea of a capable and values-driven Europe as strongly as he does—an Europe determined to actively shape its own future. A Member of the European Parliament since 2004, Weber ranks among the most experienced and distinguished parliamentarians in Brussels and Strasbourg. He has led the EPP Group since 2014 and was re-elected to this position for the fourth time following the 2024 European elections.
Before Manfred Weber’s State of Europe, four innovative ideas from the KAS Makerthon Europe will be presented live on stage. The audience will then vote for the best pitch. The speaker of the winning team will join the subsequent panel discussion with Manfred Weber, Prof. Dr. Daniela Schwarzer, and Dr. Christian Johann.
The KAS Makerthon is an action-oriented innovation format by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Under the guiding question “How can we shape an action-oriented Europe that succeeds in the World of Tomorrow?”, 24 young Europeans from diverse professional backgrounds came together in early October to develop practical solutions to key future challenges for Europe.

The State of Europe is open to a broad audience – including interested citizens, political decision-makers, and representatives from the media, business, academia, and civil society.
The event is organized in cooperation with Allianz SE and the European Academy Berlin. The venue is fully accessible. Simultaneous interpretation in German and English will be provided.
