This research comes at a time when there is a perceived new momentum around sustainable development. The international agenda is increasingly committed to common goals; Governments and legislators collaborate by aligning public policies with ambitions of sustainable economic prosperity, while protecting the planet's natural systems, and with a view to providing a better quality of life for people.

Planetary Health Scorecard is a multi-stakeholder strategic information analysis tool that aims to provide a free consultation tool for stakeholders to make informed and knowledgeable decisions, and that is useful as:
- Reference point for health/environment information in Latin America.
- Instrument for generating consistent and reliable information related to the perception and performance in the management of public health and environmental policy.
- Measurement instrument for the identification and management of potential risks associated with health and the environment.

Finally, this research seeks to be a joint search tool for solutions to global problems with implications in Latin America.
