The Role of the Law

Public, private and foreign investments in agriculture change social structures in East and Southeast Asia. Land grabbing and forced relocations are well-known side-effects of this development. They indicate deficits in terms of rule of law and good governance. As a result, societal and ecological problems hamper sustainable development.
