Political Parties, Functions, and Organisations in Democratic Societies
As we enter a new decade, the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia proudly presents the 11th batch of young politicians from 12 Asian countries who will undergo a two-year training programme on political party building, local governance and development, election campaigning, and European politics. The first training module will be held this coming 16-21 February 2020 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

A Comparison of Drivers of Radicalisation in Asia and Europe
From the 13th to 14th January 2020, the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia/Singapore will host the high-profile academic conference titled “United by Violence, Divided by Cause? A Comparison of Drivers of Radicalisation in Asia and Europe” in Singapore. A group of renowned professors from various disciplines will discuss the similarities and differences of radicalisation and political violence in Asia and Europe. What are the differences between radicals and perpetrators of political violence in Europe and Asia, what do they share and what makes them violent after all? These questions are treated at the conference and the subsequent workshop.

Collaboration between the State and Civil Society Organizations in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism
From 17 to 19 September, 2019, the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) will hold the 4th Asia-Europe Counter-Terrorism Dialogue. The topic of this year’s dialogue will be “Collaboration between the State and Civil Society Organizations in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism”.

We are gathering 12 experts on digital innovation and policy from across Asia in Berlin to discuss how we can encourage innovation and how regulatory policies can create an environment conducive for digital innovation. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has launched a High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation with the aim to identify good examples and propose modalities for working cooperatively across sectors, disciplines and borders to address challenges in the digital age. The report of the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation makes a set of actionable recommendations in different fields of digitalisation Konrad Adenauer Stiftung has been asked by the United Nations to support the UN’s inquiry about the countries‘ perspectives on the suggestions made by the UN Secretary General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation.

After completing three training modules on political party organizations and functions, local governance and development, leadership in campaigning, and implementing their political projects, 17 young politicians from 7 Asian countries will be participating in the final training module of the KASYP programme in Berlin and Thuringia, Germany from 25 – 31 August 2019.
