Provincial Open Budget Index (POBI 2020)

POBI contributes to transparent State budget management

The survey showed that in 2020, 27 provinces and cities fully publicized documents and information about their State budget spending, three localities more than 2019. Meanwhile, those publishing relatively sufficient information stood at 29, up two provinces. The provinces with sufficient or little information were five and two respectively.

Climate Change Litigation on the African Continent

Over the past decade climate change litigation is increasingly utilised to influence policy outcomes and sway corporate and societal behaviour. Whilst the majority of litigation to date has taken place in developed countries, there has been a significant increase and expansion in scope and geographical coverage over the past five years now with some 172 cases documented worldwide, many of which are in developing countries.

Kommunalwahlen in Finnland: Abrechnung mit der Regierung Marin

Bei den Kommunalwahlen in Finnland am 13. Juni haben die Regierungsparteien insgesamt Verluste einstecken müssen. Die Sozialdemokraten unter Ministerpräsidentin Sanna Marin verloren 1,7% im Vergleich zu den vorherigen Kommunalwahlen und kamen, wie auch in den letzten Parlamentswahlen 2019, auf insgesamt 17,7%. Die größten Verluste hatte die Zentrumspartei (KESK) mit -2,7% auf 14,9%. Landesweit haben somit die Mitte-Rechts Parteien der parlamentarischen Opposition die Wahlen für sich entschieden. Dabei gewann zum vierten Mal in Folge die in der EVP vertretenen Nationale Sammlungspartei (Kokoomus) mit 21,4% als landesweit stärkste Kraft. Die ebenfalls in der EVP vertretenen Christdemokraten haben ihr Ergebnis mit 3,6% im Wesentlichen halten können. Die rechtspopulistische „Die Finnen“ Partei (PS) hat prozentual am Meisten dazugewonnen und kam mit 14,5% auf den vierten Platz. Die Wahlbeteiligung lag insgesamt bei 55,1% und damit etwas niedriger als bei den Kommunalwahlen 2017 mit 58,8%.

The second part discusses the trend in the future of work for Vietnamese youth followed by the third part discussing the challenges that Vietnamese youth face in the labor market. The final part sets out policy responses and recommendations to support the youth in their future of work.
