International stage for inclusion and participation

In April 2025, Berlin became the center of international inclusion policy: the Global Disability Summit brought together delegations from around the world to discuss social participation, political responsibility, and strengthening the rights of people with disabilities.

Internationale Fachkonferenz der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung und des Zentrums Liberale Moderne

Am 12. November 2025 fand in der Akademie der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung die internationale Konferenz „Geopolitische Zeitenwende? – Die Ukraine und die Zukunft der EU“ statt, organisiert von der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Zentrum Liberale Moderne. Im Mittelpunkt stand die Frage, wie eine strategisch ausgerichtete Erweiterungspolitik der EU insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Ukraine und die östliche Nachbarschaft gestaltet werden kann. Ganztägig wurde vor vollen Rängen unter Einbeziehung des Publikums diskutiert. Die jüngste Veröffentlichung des EU-Erweiterungspakets und die Intensivierung des russischen Luftkriegs gegen ukrainische Städte sorgten für starkes Interesse an der Thematik der Konferenz, welche internationale Experten und deutsche Politiker zusammenbrachte.

60 Jahre deutsch-israelische Beziehungen

Die Zukunft gemeinsam gestalten

Anlässlich des Jubiläums der Aufnahme diplomatischer Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und Israel veranstaltete die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung am 16. Oktober 2025 eine Festveranstaltung in Berlin. Zu Gast waren unter anderem die israelische Vizeaußenministerin Sharren Haskel und eine Delegation von Mitgliedern der Knesset sowie Staatsminister Florian Hahn.

German Arab Gulf Dialogue on Security and Cooperation in Berlin

Dialogue even in times of crisis

Amid the conflict between Israel and Iran, leading representatives from the Gulf states and Germany gathered for the 7th German-Arab Gulf Dialogue organised by the KAS and DAFG. Although the conference focused on overcoming current challenges in the Middle East and Europe, it also highlighted opportunities and potential for closer cooperation: Especially in times of crisis, stronger cooperation between Germany and the Gulf states is necessary.

Expanding German-Ecuadorian cooperation in the area of ​​the rule of law and Ecuador's challenges in the fight against organized crime – these were just some of the topics that dominated Prof. Dr. Stephan Harbarth's visit to Quito. Highlights of the dialogue program, co-organized by the KAS, included a meeting between the German delegation and the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court and a lecture by Prof. Harbarth at the University of San Francisco.

The Middle East after the terrorist attacks of 7 October

Visit of Dr. Gerhard Wahlers to Israel and the Palestinian Territories

Against the background of the ongoing political and security crises in Israel, the continuing war in the Gaza Strip and the volatile security situation in the West Bank, Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, Deputy Secretary General of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Head of the Department for European and International Cooperation, visited the region from 31 March to 3 April 2025. The trip took him not only to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and southern Israel, but also to Ramallah - and thus provided a nuanced insight into the challenges facing the region more than 18 months after the barbaric terrorist attacks of 7 October.

Disability Rights & Advocacy: Building a More Equitable Nation

KAS Malaysia and the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) host their first Disability & Advocacy Event

On 25th February 2025, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Malaysia and the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) hosted their first-ever event on disability inclusion, titled “Disability Rights & Advocacy: Building a More Equitable Nation.” The conference brought together over 120 participants, including industry leaders, policymakers, and advocates, to discuss strategies for creating a more inclusive workforce and society for persons with disabilities.

Cafe Kyiv 2025: ‘We stand by the side of Ukraine’

With this message, Prof Dr Norbert Lammert opened the third Cafe Kyiv and, together with 5,000 guests, he sent a strong signal of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

The interest in the third edition of Cafe Kyiv on 11 March 2025 at the Colosseum Berlin was once again immense. Around 5000 visitors came together under the motto ‘We choose freedom’. With 130 partner organisations, 100 event formats and nine stages, the event offered a unique mix of politics, science, innovation and networking. In particular, cultural highlights such as the pop-up market, film screenings and exhibitions enabled everyone to experience Ukraine. The numerous guests included members of parliament Knut Abraham, Roderich Kiesewetter, Jürgen Hardt, Anton Hofreiter, Katrin Göring-Eckardt and Michael Roth, the Ukrainian ambassador Oleksii Makeiev, Berlin's Senator for Culture Joe Chialo, ARD correspondent Vassili Golod, Ukrainians Serhiy Prytula, Maksym Butkevych and Olha Kuryshko as well as other high-calibre representatives from politics, business and culture.

9. Westbalkan-Botschafterkonferenz

Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung unterstützt seit vielen Jahren den EU-Beitrittsprozess der Westbalkan-Länder. Eines unserer herausragendsten Formate ist die Westbalkan-Botschafterkonferenz. In diesem Jahr übernahmen die albanische Botschafterin in Deutschland, I. E. Adia Sakiqi, und der ungarische Botschafter in Deutschland, S. E. Dr. Péter Györkös, die Doppelschirmherrschaft.

EU-Beitrittsprozess muss zügig vorangehen

Nordmazedonien ist ein verlässlicher NATO-Partner. Auch deshalb war es uns eine besondere Freude, den Ministerpräsidenten Nordmazedoniens, Hristijan Mickoski, zu einem Austausch in der Zentrale der KAS zu empfangen.
