Vom 8. bis 11. März wird die Stiftung aus aktuellem Anlass gemeinsam mit Sofia Documental, dem Tschechischen Zentrum in Sofia, dem Balkan Documentary Center, der Tschechischen und Ukrainischen Botschaft eine Sonderedition von Dokumentarfilmen über die Ukraine veranstalten.

Am Abend des 3. März unterzeichneten die Staatspräsidentin, die Premierministerin und der Parlamentspräsident der Republik Moldau einen Antrag auf Beitritt zur Europäischen Union. Bedroht von der russischen Invasion in das Nachbarland Ukraine und angezogen von der wahrgenommenen Bereitschaft der EU, Beitrittsgesuche aus Osteuropa anzunehmen, erklärte die moldauische Staatspräsidentin Maia Sandu: „The time is now!“. After the first study on the new European Peace Facility (EPF) and the second on African reactions, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Security Policy Dialogue Program (SIPODI) and the Peace Research and Information Group (GRIP) of the Boutros Ghali Observatory for Peace (OBG) are officially launching a third study, this time with a no less relevant question: how does the European Peace Facility work - in practice? This study takes a look at the administrative procedures and political issues of the EPF. By changing the action of the EU, the EPF is probably not granted by a simple snap of the fingers to the applicant countries. The need for its implementation must also be relevant to the security and diplomatic needs identified by the EU member states. Indeed, the granting of the EFF is subject to a meticulous procedure ranging from the management of assistance measures to sanctions, including the conditions of assistance and subsequent controls. In order to generate fruitful exchanges and dialogues around this new product, experts, researchers, professionals from the world of international security and diplomacy as well as the interested public are crossing their glasses on this third study. The Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS PolDiMed) is pleased to publish its newest study “Assessing Healthcare Systems’ Resilience and Consequences amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic”. This study was conducted in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) to evaluate the status of the healthcare systems in the South Mediterranean region with a focus on six countries: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia.

Nach dreitägiger Beratung verurteilte die Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen am 2. März 2022 mit der Resolution (A/ES-11/L.1) den Angriff Russlands auf die Ukraine und damit die Verletzung der von der UN-Charta zu schützenden Prinzipien der staatlichen Souveränität, der territorialen Integrität sowie der Unabhängigkeit. 141 Mitglieder traten für die Werte und Prinzipien der Vereinten Nationen ein und stellten sich solidarisch hinter die Ukraine. 35 enthielten sich der Stimme und 5 stimmten gegen die Resolution der Generalversammlung.

La KAS México observa con gran preocupación, la condena a nueve y ocho años de prisión de Félix Navarro y Sayli Navarro respectivamente. Padre e hija fueron detenidos en el marco de las protestas del pasado 11 de julio de 2021 (11J). Su arresto se llevó a cabo el 12 de julio cuando ambos acudieron a la Unidad Policial de Perico en Matanzas, Cuba, para pedir informes sobre un grupo de manifestantes detenido durante las protestas.
