Seit mehr als ein Jahr beschäftigen sich die regelmäßigen und außerordentlichen Sitzungen des Europä-ischen Rates nicht nur mit der Covid-19-Pandemie, sondern auch mit dem Stand der EU-Türkei Bezie-hungen. Von insgesamt 12 Ratssitzungen von Anfang 2020 bis jetzt haben sich sechs direkt oder indirekt den EU-Türkei Beziehungen gewidmet. Das Thema ist allgegenwärtig und scheint festgefahren zu sein. Die letzte Ratssitzung am 25. und 26. März bekräftige dennoch erneut die Bereitschaft der EU am Fest-halten einer positiven Agenda für die Türkei. Der anschließende Besuch der beiden europäischen Präsi-denten unterstrich den Wunsch nach einer neuen Dynamik in den Beziehungen zwischen Ankara und Brüssel. Ob diese letzten Entwicklungen eine Trendwende in den europäisch-türkischen Beziehungen darstellt, bleibt abzuwarten. Ein Überblick über eine Talfahrt.
