Mit einem Paukenschlag und viel Symbolik hat Kasachstans langjähriger Präsident Nursultan Nasarbajew das diesjährige kasachische Neujahrsfest (Nauryz) eingeläutet. Exakt am 19. März 2019 um 19 Uhr erklärte er per Fernsehansprache seinen Rücktritt nach fast drei Jahrzehnten Regentschaft. Bereits am 20. März 2019 um 12 Uhr wurde der bisherige Senatsvorsitzende, Kassym-Schomart Tokajew zum Präsidenten der Republik Kasachstan vereidigt. The report „Public Service Media Under Crossfire by Protest Movements“ of the KAS Media Programme South East Europe is gaining further public attention. After the German daily “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” quoted the analysis on the current demonstrations in Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia and Albania in its report on 19 March, the Head of the Media Programme South East Europe, Hendrik Sittig, was as a guest at the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) on March 21.
