As the most populous country on Earth and blessed with formidable economic growth, India will be central to the international community's efforts to mitigate climate change. In this event Sudhanshu Mani, who has been at the forefront of sustainable mobility in India, will present what it takes to bring long-term change on track.

Sudhanshu Mani is a visionary from India who tells the story of India's sustainability drive through his personal experience as the man behind the production and execution of India's fastest self-propelled engine-less train, aka Vande Bharat Express, which was manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in a record-breaking time of 18 months. With over 36 years of experience in various departments in Indian Railways, he is a passionate environmentalist and makes a strong case for intentful leadership as the key for any change. Sudhanshu Mani will present his talk via livestream from India.

This event is part of an ongoing event series titled India Salon: Climate Resilience and Sustainable Urban Design co-hosted by KAS and Under The Mango Tree. The event series puts a spotlight on current sustainability efforts in India and engage in discussions on how Germany might take learnings and inspiration from the dynamic developments on the subcontinent
