Workshop

Workshop: Strengthening the Judiciary: Main challenges and ways forward

Workshop for the heads of the Arab and European Supreme Judicial Councils, in cooperation with LFPCP and the Arab Center for Legal & Judicial Researches from the Arab League

The judicial systems in the region are under strong question and scrutiny as we witness the challenges faced by people trying to access justice, as well as the outcomes of court proceedings (e.g., the lack of enforcement of the decisions, inconsistent and even contradictory jurisprudence). These challenges increasingly weaken the public’s faith in the judiciary as a guardian of individual rights. Thus, strengthening judicial integrity by building up its (administrative) capacity of the judges should be a priority, as it is a key element to ensure fair justice and equal rights for all parties.
