The Introduction of Ex-Post Constitutional Review Procedures
Developments, Challenges and Application Perspectives in Morocco
In recent years, several institutions charged with constitutional review in the countries of the MENA region have been established for the first time or reformed by the attribution of new procedures. On 13 June 2019, the Rule of Law Programme Middle East/North Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer- Stiftung, in partnership with the Agence Judiciaire du Royaume du Maroc, holds an international expert meeting in Rabat, on the introduction of ex-post constitutional review procedures in the MENA region and their application perspectives in Morocco.

The Rule of Law Programme Middle East / North Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung announces the upcoming international symposium on Mapping Constitutional Control in the MENA Region, that brings together the results of a series of expert meetings that the regional Rule of Law Programme together with the Arab Association for Constitutional Law has carried out over the course of the last two years. The symposium will be held from 15th to 17th April 2019, in Beirut, Lebanon.

Approaches, Regulations and Results
From the 10th to the 13th of March 2019, the Rule of Law Programme Middle East/North Africa of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organizes an international expert meeting on the topic “Judges, Social Media and Impartiality: Approaches, Regulations and Results”, which will take place in Cadenabbia, Italy. The conference will serve as a forum for an academic discussion between scholars and judges by exchanging expertise on the relatively new phenomena of social media and its impact on the judicial function.

High Courts and Councils, Data-base Development and Accessibility to Court Decisions
Access to judicial records and to information about the judiciary is an important, yet often overlooked, aspect of transparency of the judiciary. While the current attention is being focused on promoting freedom of information and access to records with regard to the executive functions of government, much less has been done to secure or even evaluate access to judicial information within high courts and councils both on an internal and external level.
