Masarat conducted a study on why trust between the different components of the Iraqi society as well as between the society and the government has been lost. A community sample of 2000 people from all Iraqi provinces that witnessed protests has been asked; the participants have been divided into actual demonstrators, supporters of demonstrations, opponents of demonstrations, and neutrals. In addition to representatives of the demonstrators, previous and present members of the legislative and executive authorities as well as media activists have participated in a panel that discussed the study's results.
Its outcomes have been formulated in a number of recommendations that shall help decision makers to reach practical solutions to be applied on the ground in order to rebuild trust within Iraq's social fabric and confidence towards the Iraqi government.
