German companies eschew plans for sweeping changes to their procurement strategy

The Coronavirus pandemic does not seem to have triggered a trend towards deglobalisation in the German economy. On the corporate side, there is little need for a comprehensive political strategy to relocate global production processes to their German or European homeland.

Die Konferenz zur Zukunft Europas: Institutionen und Menschen zusammendenken

In Zeiten, in denen in vielen Ländern demokratische Prinzipien angefochten werden, sendet die EU das Signal, dass Bürgerbeteiligung eine Bereicherung sein kann.

Die von der EU ins Leben gerufene Konferenz zur Zukunft Europas ist als inklusiver Prozess angelegt. Dieser umfasst auch neue Bausteine, die dazu dienen sollen, Bürgerinnen und Bürger aus allen Teilen der EU in die Diskussion zur Zukunft Europas einzubeziehen. Dass am Ende die Spitzen der Europäischen Kommission, des Europäischen Parlaments und des Rates der Europäischen Union über den Umgang mit den Ergebnissen entscheiden werden, entspricht den Grundsätzen der repräsentativen Demokratie.

Forests are recreational areas, provide diverse ecosystem services and are considered to be an important economic factor with diverse income opportunities. The condition of our forests is worrying: storms, forest fires, bark beetle infestations and the droughts of recent years have affected them. What can sustainable forest management look like against the background of increased expectations of environmental and climate protection?

Der neue Podcast der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung zu Fragen rund um Fluchtursachen und Fluchtursachenbekämpfung.

Der Podcast soll den Bericht der Fachkommission Fluchtursachen der Bundesregierung flankieren, der am 18. Mai 2021 veröffentlicht wurde. Host ist Dr. La Toya Waha, Politikwissenschaftlerin und Referentin für Flucht und Migration im Think Tank der KAS. In jeder Folge spricht sie mit Experten darüber, was Fluchtursachen und deren Bekämpfung konkret bedeuten. Dabei geben die Gäste nicht nur Einblicke in verschiedene Länder, sondern auch in ihre beruflichen und persönlichen Erfahrungen.

Research and Sources on Contemporary History

In der Reihe „Forschungen und Quellen zur Zeitgeschichte“ veröffentlicht das Archiv für Christlich-Demokratische Politik seit 1980 wissenschaftliche Studien zur Christlichen Demokratie, Darstellungen zur Geschichte der Bundesrepublik und der CDU sowie Biographien wichtiger Repräsentanten. Zu den 50 bisher erschienen Büchern zählen auch Quelleneditionen, wie Protokolle von Parteigremien oder Tagebücher von einflussreichen Politikern. Die Publikationen sind im Buchhandel erhältlich.

Sociopolitical Series

Veröffentlicht wurden herausragende Dissertationsschriften mit gesellschaftspolitisch relevanten Themen von Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten der Begabtenförderung und Personen, die ihrem Promotionskolleg „Soziale Marktwirtschaft“ kooptiert sind.

Die Reihe gab den Autorinnen und Autoren ein wissenschaftliches und publizistisches Forum und brachte aktuelle Themen in die öffentliche Diskussion ein.
