This change requires careful analysis and a differentiated approach in order to assess the potential threat to internal security accordingly.

How municipal information security can be strengthened

In recent years, there have been numerous IT security incidents in municipal administrations and organisations. The Online Access Act (OZG) obliges local authorities to digitise their processes. More and more sensitive citizen data is being processed digitally. In many of the approximately 10,900 local authorities across Germany, the IT infrastructure is outdated, the IT systems are not sufficiently protected, the financial resources for information security are too low and the personnel requirements are far too high. This makes municipalities in Germany easy victims for attacks.

On the potentials and challenges of managed migration

Demographic change poses enormous challenges for the German welfare state. In addition to the discussion on how domestic potential for the labour market can be promoted, there is also a debate on the extent to which migration can contribute to mitigating or even overcoming the negative effects of demographic change on the welfare state. Managed labour migration in particular could be suitable for this purpose. This study addresses this question using the internationally established method of generational accounting.

In der Reihe „Forschungen und Quellen zur Zeitgeschichte“ veröffentlicht das Archiv für Christlich-Demokratische Politik seit 1980 wissenschaftliche Studien zur Christlichen Demokratie, Darstellungen zur Geschichte der Bundesrepublik und der CDU sowie Biographien wichtiger Repräsentanten. Zu den 50 bisher erschienen Büchern zählen auch Quelleneditionen, wie Protokolle von Parteigremien oder Tagebücher von einflussreichen Politikern. Die Publikationen sind im Buchhandel erhältlich.

Sociopolitical Series

Veröffentlicht wurden herausragende Dissertationsschriften mit gesellschaftspolitisch relevanten Themen von Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten der Begabtenförderung und Personen, die ihrem Promotionskolleg „Soziale Marktwirtschaft“ kooptiert sind.
